The first time Jessica Delboni fought Alesha Zappitella, she left disappointed with a split decision loss trying to take Invicta FC’s atomweight title.
But in the rematch earlier this week, she left no doubt. Delboni (12-3) dominated Zappitella (9-3) in the Invicta FC 45 main event, which streamed live on MMA Junkie, and won the 105-pound title with a unanimous decision. She had a pair of 50-45 sweeps of the judges’ scorecards, plus a 49-46.
After her loss to Zappitella in their first meeting in May 2021, Delboni punched her ticket back to a title shot when she won Invicta’s atomweight tournament.
