UFC Fight Night 200 post-event facts: Sam Alvey matches B.J. Penn’s skid record

The first event in a busy February schedule for the UFC went down on Saturday in Las Vegas with UFC Fight Night 200 at the UFC Apex.

The main event saw Sean Strickland (25-3 MMA, 12-3 UFC) continue his ascent up the middleweight rankings with a largely lopsided split decision win over Jack Hermansson (22-7 MMA, 9-5 UFC) to extend his winning streak to five fights.

Event stats

The UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance payout for the event totaled $160,500.

Debuting fighters went 2-2 at the event.

Shavkat Rakhmonov and Chidi Njokuani earned $50,000 UFC Fight Night 200 fight-night bonuses. Julian Erosa earned a $100,000 bonus after his opponent, Steven Peterson, missed weight for their Fight of the Night.

The UFC sold VIP tickets to fans for UFC Fight Night 200, but the promotion did not make public the total number of tickets sold or the gate.

Betting favorites went 9-4 on the card.

Betting favorites improved to 1-2 in UFC headliners this year.

Total fight time for the 13-bout card was 2:14:48.

Sean Strickland def. Jack Hermansson

Strickland’s six-fight UFC winning streak at middleweight is the second-longest active streak in the division behind Israel Adesanya (10).

Strickland improved to 4-0 since he returned to the UFC middleweight division in October 2020.

Strickland has earned eight of his 12 UFC victories by decision.

Hermansson fell to 1-3 in UFC main events.

Nick Maximov (8-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has earned both of his UFC victories by decision.

Maximov’s 11 takedowns landed tied the single-fight record for most in a UFC middleweight belt. Marvin Vettori shares the record.

Punahele Soriano (8-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) has suffered consecutive losses after starting his career 8-0.

Soriano has suffered both of his career losses by decision.

Rakhmonov (15-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) has earned all 15 of his career victories by stoppage.

Rakhmonov earned the 14th knockout in UFC history stemming from a spinning wheel kick.

Carlston Harris (17-5 MMA, 2-1 UFC) has suffered both of his career stoppage loses by knockout.

Brendan Allen (18-5 MMA, 6-2 UFC) has earned 15 of his 18 career victories by stoppage.

Sam Alvey’s (33-17-1 MMA, 10-12-1 UFC) eight-fight winless skid is the longest of his career. He hasn’t earned a victory since June 2018.

Alvey’s eight-fight UFC winless skid is tied with B.J. Penn for the longest in company history.

Erosa (26-9 MMA, 5-5 UFC) improved to 4-1 since he returned to the UFC for a third stint in June 2020.

Peterson (19-10 MMA, 3-4 UFC) has suffered nine of his 10 career losses by decision.

Peterson has suffered all four of his UFC losses by decision.

John Castaneda (19-5 MMA, 2-1 UFC) has earned 17 of his 19 career victories by stoppage. That includes both of his UFC wins.

Miles Johns (12-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) has suffered both of his career losses by stoppage.

Johns suffered the first submission loss of his career.

Hakeem Dawodu (13-2-1 MMA, 6-2 UFC) has earned five of his six UFC victories by decision.

Dawodu’s six victories since 2016 in UFC featherweight competition are tied for fourth-most in division behind Alexander Volkanovski (seven), Giga Chikadze (seven) and Dan Ige (seven).

Michael Trizano (9-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) fell to 1-2 since he dropped to the featherweight division in May 2019.

Trizano suffered the first decision loss of his career.

Njokuani (21-7 MMA, 1-0 UFC) has earned 13 of his 14 career stoppage victories by knockout.

Njokuani’s 16-second victory marked the second-fastest debut in UFC history behind Terrance McKinney’s seven-second win at UFC 263 in June 2021.

Marc-Andre Barriault (13-5 MMA, 2-4 UFC) suffered the first knockout loss of his career.

Alexis Davis (21-1 MMA, 8-6 UFC) improved to 2-1 since she returned to the UFC women’s bantamweight division in February 2021. She’s 7-3 in the weight class overall under the UFC banner.

Davis’ seven victories in UFC women’s bantamweight competition are tied with Julianna Peña for third-most in divisional history behind Amanda Nunes (11) and Raquel Pennington (nine).

Davis has earned seven of her eight UFC victories by decision.

Julija Stoliarenko’s (9-6-2 MMA, 0-4 UFC) three-fight losing skid is the longest of her career. She hasn’t earned a victory since March 2020.
