LAS VEGAS – Ignacio Bahamondes beat Rong Zhu with a third-round submission Saturday to close out the preliminary card at UFC Fight Night 202 in Las Vegas.

“It was awesome how me and my team read the fight. We knew he was going to get desperate. We know he was going to shoot desperate, leave a lot of spaces open, and we were going to capitalize on every opportunity.”

“I’ve got to finish him. That’s all that comes to my mind (when Zhu missed weight). He already broke on the scale. He’s going to break in the octagon. That’s how it is.”

Bahamondes on what he wants next

“Whatever the UFC has for me, I’m going to be ready. Just call my manager. I’m going to be ready for whatever you guys want. I’m going back to Chile for a month to have a little rest. I’ve been fighting three fights back to back, so I think I need at least a month to rest. And then whenever I’m back, three months after that, I’m ready.”
